About
The purpose of this site is NOT to debate gender issues. Therefore, comments promoting social agendas or those deemed inappropriate for the genuine purpose of this site will be removed. Additionally, since I am not an expert, this site cannot and should not replace professional financial or automotive advice or the directives outlined in your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
What is the purpose of the site?
HerCar.ca is an accumulated automotive resource to help novice consumers find the information they need in order to learn about purchasing, safely operating, maintaining and servicing a new or certified pre-owned vehicle in Canada.
Why did I create HerCar.ca?
All too often, a fundamental knowledge of a subject is a prerequisite to getting any help. If you’re like me, you have so many questions that you’re happy enough to begin with the very basics and go from there. Sure there are lots of automotive experts and reviews on Web sites all over the Internet, but how is a regular person supposed to sift through all the hype to find the reliable information they need — especially when searching for information that is applicable for Canada?
I created HerCar.ca to address the needs of Canadians who have little knowledge of vehicles or the automotive industry but who for whatever reason find themselves in need of making automotive decisions on their own. While the site is primarily intended to assist women, it can benefit any person in any age group who is interested in being better informed as he begins his automotive journey.
Who is behind HerCar.ca?
As an automotive fan, a young consumer and a Canadian woman, I am more than happy to share what I’ve learned with anyone who wants a little extra support. I am a real person. This site is a product of my own research and experience.
Because neutral information is fundamental to this site’s mission, I am NOT endorsed by any auto maker or dealer. Any mention of a company, organization, publication or brand name on HerCar.ca is meant to illustrate concepts or reference real-world examples — not to endorse.
Happy driving!
